Mayor Roseman and His Council Ticket sweep Carlstadt Election

Mayor Will Roseman, Councilman Dennis Ritchie, and Councilman-Elect Jim Lenoy swept every district Tuesday to win the Carlstadt mayoral and council races. The landslide victory was an affirmation of the policies and characters of the Mayor and his co-runners. In his victory speech last night, the Mayor made a point of moving on from the bitter tone of this election and reminding the assembled crowd that he governs both republican and democrat residents and would embrace people of both parties into his vision of Carlstadt.

I doubt that there's another town in Bergen County that has cleaner streets, better snow and leaf removal, or more extensive trash services than Carlstadt.

The Carlstadt Republican Club

is composed of a group of ordinary citizens who banded together in the early nineties to find a way to oust a Democratic regime that had grown unresponsive to the needs of the people of Carlstadt after many decades in power. The candidates, led by Will Roseman, managed to gain a foothold on the council. The newly elected officials made such an impact so quickly that it was only a matter of time before the Republicans took over complete control of the council.

Average Citizens

run the Republican Club. Come to a meeting and see what we're about. There are no dues, just a requirement to want open and honest government.

Carlstadt 911 Memorial Window
Carlstadt, NJ has the sad distinction of being the only town to have lost an individual at each of the September 11th terror sites. This monumental window was two years in the making, is completely hand made and dedicated to those we lost on that fateful day.

The window is dedicated to Father Mychal Judge who died at the World Trade Center; Joseph Pycior, who perished in the Pentagon and to Lauren Catuzzi Grandcolas who was lost on United Flight 93. It is also dedicated to those our borough lost in Iraq, Frank Carvill and Michael Schwarz. --Will Roseman

How We Got Here

A Message from Mayor Will Roseman and the Carlstadt Republican Council Members

With the election almost upon us, the team looks forward to a year of renewed service and public duty.

Taxes:

Your Republican Team has held the line on taxes. For the past five years, your municipal tax rate (the only portion that the governing body controls) has gone up less than inflation! In fact, Carlstadt has the third lowest taxes in Bergen County.

Recreation:

We have the finest fields and the finest recreation for our children. And unlike other Bergen County towns, it’s all free! Keeping Carlstadt as a “family oriented” community has always been our primary objective and children are always first in our mind.

Seniors:

The Republican’s introduced the Senior Bus in Carlstadt and now offer seniors “transportation service” for doctor visits. Construction begins on our “Carlstadt only” senior housing project this spring and we are expecting occupancy this fall.

Meadowlands Housing:

Your Republican Team has successfully fought “meadowlands housing” for the past twelve years. The Democrats favor placing 5,500 housing units in our meadowlands which would destroy our taxes as well as the great quality of life we enjoy here in Carlstadt.

Efficiency:

From the restructuring of our Police Department to shared gas services with neighboring towns, Carlstadt continues to save money. We spend less on our Police Department today than we did three years ago and we received well over a million dollars in grants this year alone.

Safe and Clean Streets:

Our streets are safe any time of the day or night and there is no question that Carlstadt has the cleanest streets. No town offers better garbage and recycling pickup than Carlstadt and every year at least two streets are resurfaced.
