In September, 1941, seventeen women, wives and daughters of the Vic's Hoofers Social Club, which had organized five years prior, held a meeting at Gardella's Tavern to formulate plans regarding an auxiliary social club.
As a result of this meeting, Vic's Hoofers Auxiliary was formed. It was decided to hold the meetings on the second Thursday of each month and all women, not necessarily wives of Vic's Hoofer members were invited to join.
The first President was Edith Schmidt. The initial treasury was $27.
Over the past sixty-two years, members have come and gone, but the spirit of the club remains. We try to make our meetings enjoyable even though our membership is small with activities such as Chinese Auctions, Hat Socials, St. Patty's Day Party, and anniversary celebrations.
Vic's Hoofers meets the first Thursday of the month at the Civic Center on Fourth Street. Meetings start at 7:30pm.
